Welcome to DBS (PG) College. Inspired by the ideals of the great social reformer of the nineteenth century, Maharishi Swami Dayanand Saraswati, the college was established in July 1961 in Dehradun by Dayanand Shiksha Sansthan, Kanpur then named D.A.V College Trust and Management Society. The College memorizes an eminent educationist, a legal luminary, a philanthropist, and a legendary of Arya Samaj Late( Dr) Brijendra Swarup, after whom the college was named Dayanand Brijendra Swarup (Post-Graduate) College, Dehradun abbreviated and popularly known as D.B.S. (P.G.) College, Dehradun. It witnessed the leaderships of visionaries like the Late (Dr) Virendra Swarup,the Late (Shri)Jagendra Swarup, the Late (Dr) M B Srivastava, and many intellectual faculty members who have always contributed to the development of the college. Presently, Shri Manvendra Swarup, Advocate is serving as the Secretary,the Board of Management.
The College is UttarakhandState Government Aided Post Graduate College with Doctoral and Post Doctoral Studies facilities.It is a brand name in higher education in the region and is situated in the heart of the city.One can seethe towering Mussoorie Hills of the north and a relatively dwarf hill of Shiwaliks in the south from the campus of the college.

I, welcome you all to another new academic session at DBS (PG) College, Dehradun. Inspired by the vision of the great social reformer of the nineteenth century, Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, and the visionary founders of the college, the goal of the college is to create enlightened individuals with a commitment to social change and nation building, through a course of holistic, academic, intellectual, moral, spiritual and physical development and character building.
I extend my greetings and warm welcome to all on behalf of DBS (PG) College, Dehradun an institution that completed its 62 year of establishment in 2023. This grand old temple of learning is spread across 14 Departments with UG, PG courses, and facilities for doctoral research and post-doctoral fellowships in some Departments. The College is Uttarakhand State Government Aided Post Graduate College and is affiliated to HNB Garhwal (Central) University, Srinagar, Uttarakhand.
