The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a youth development organization in India. It aims to develop character, discipline, leadership and the spirit of adventure and selfless service among youth citizens. NCC provides a platform for cadets to develop qualities of leadership, patriotism and community service through a range of activities, including drills, camps and various training programs. It also prepares young people for a career in the Armed Forces and promotes a sense of national unity and social cohesion.

CAMPS AND BENEFITS OF NCC
NCC plays a crucial role in shaping the character, discipline and leadership skills of young individuals. Through regular drills, community service and specialized training, NCC in stills a sense of duty and patriotism. NCC camps are an integral part of the training and development process. Camps like Annual Training Camp (ATC), Army Attachment Camp provides cadets with comprehensive training in various aspects in NCC and military. They give first-hand experience of the life within the Indian Army.
Advance Leadership Camp (ALC) provides a premier training program focus on developing high level leadership and management skills among cadets.
Thal Sainik Camp (TSC) is one of the most prestigious camp that aims to train NCC cadets in various military and adventure activities that are taught in NCC like map reading, field craft & battle craft, obstacle training , firing,
etc. Republic Day Camp (RDC) gives the cadets an opportunity to participate in the Republic Day Parade showcasing their drill skills and representing their respective states. Youth Exchange Program (YEP) it gives a chance to visit friendly countries as a youth ambassador and young diplomats. Camps like EBSB and NIC provides the cadets a platform to learn about different cultures and diversity of India. Various Trekking and Mountaineering Camps gives and exposure to the cadets to explore and learn the basic of Mountaineering.
ACHIEVEMENTS
The Senior Under Officer Archana Negi of DBS College had secured 5th rank in Thal Sena Camp (TSC) 2023 all over India in Map Reading. She is talented and dedicated to her responsibilities and duties. Under Officer Manpreet Bhatia successfully completed the Prestigious Republic Day Camp 2024.She has been the part of the Cultural Team representing Uttarakhand Directorate. She showcased her exemplary skills and precision. Senior Under Officer Shivangi Uniyal an esteemed alumnus of the batch 2017, is currently excelling at prestigious OTA (Officers Training Academy) in 2024. Her achievement is a testament to her hard work and the values instilled by NCC.Sergeant Preeti of DBS College made us proud by successfully completing Thal Sena Camp (TSC) 2022 in participating Map Reading event representing Uttarakhand Directorate. Her commitment to excellence had earned her this recognition.Outstanding Achievements in Army Attachment Camp 2023.Cadet Srishti achieved 1st position in drill competiton, whereas LC Sanju got 2nd position.CQMS Anchal Rawat got 3rd position .They also won Gold medal in the Tent Pitching competition.In 2022, Advance Leadership Camp was held in Punjab where SUO Archana and UO Deexa represented Uttarakhand Directorate where they won all over 24 medals showing their outstanding performances and talent.
ACTIVITIES
In the true spirits of NCC we not only focus on self growth but also strive to contribute to the betterment of our community. One such initiative is our monthly cleaning drive of Rispana River. Through this endeavor, we aim to take responsibility for environmental well being. Also, we aim to set an example for others to follow . Our annual Yoga Day celebrations that promote physical and mental well being through yoga. We celebrated International Yoga Day with enthusiasm every year. Also NCC conducts various activities among cadets to improve speaking skills and enhance their personalities. These activities includes cultural events, group discussions, group tasks, etc.
