Admission Rules and Procedures

Admission to Undergraduate (B.A./B.Sc.) First Year Classes

To seek admission to B.A./B.Sc./M.A./M.Sc. Semester I, students must complete the online merit/admission form via the Samarth Portal of H.N.B. Garhwal University, Srinagar. Upon selection in the merit list, students must submit a printed copy of the Merit/Admission Form for further processing.

B.Sc. I Semester

Mathematics Group

  • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
  • Geology
  • Defence and Strategic Studies

Bio Group

  • Chemistry, Botany, Zoology
  • Geology

Note: As per the New Education Policy 2020 (NEP-2020), students must clearly specify the following at the time of admission:

  • One Major subject
  • One Minor subject
  • Two Interdisciplinary/Multidisciplinary courses
  • One Value-Added Course (VAC)
  • One Ability/Skill Enhancement Course (AEC/SEC)

B.A. I Semester

M.Sc. Botany, M.Sc. Microbiology, M.Sc. Biotechnology, M.Sc. Biochemistry and M.A. English classes are been run under Self Finance Scheme.

Admission Guidelines and Required Documents

  • Personal Appearance and Verification:
    • It is mandatory for the applicant to be present in person for document verification at the time of admission.
    • The applicant must ensure that the name entered in the online application form matches exactly with the name on the High School Certificate/Marksheet.
  • Documents Required for New Admissions:
    • Applicants must attach self-attested copies of the following documents along with the printout of the online application form. Originals must be presented at the time of admission:
    • Self-attested copies of all academic mark sheets.
    • Self-attested copy of the High School Certificate or equivalent examination certificate.
    • Self-attested copy of the Transfer Certificate (T.C.).

Note: Original T.C. must be submitted at the time of admission.

A notarized conduct certificate must be submitted.

A self-attested copy of the Migration Certificate must also be attached. Submission of the original Migration Certificate is the student’s responsibility.

Relevant certificates such as those for sports or other extracurricular achievements, must be submitted if applicable.

Candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped) must submit:

  • A self-attested caste certificate issued by the District Magistrate/Sub-Divisional Magistrate.
  • Physically Handicapped candidates must submit a certificate issued by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
  • The OBC (Uttarakhand) certificate should not be older than three years.
  • An undertaking stating that the candidate does not belong to the creamy layer, as per the latest government guidelines, must also be submitted.
  • It is compulsory to bring all original certificates and mark sheets submitted with the application during document verification for admission. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of admission.
  • Incomplete online applications will not be considered.
  • Applicants are advised to regularly check the college notice board and official website for updates and admission-related announcements.
