NSS

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a central sector program of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, launched in 1969 to commemorate the birth centenary of Mahatma Gandhi. It aims to in still the spirit of voluntary service, discipline, and social responsibility among students through community-based activities. D.B.S. (P.G.) College proudly hosts three active NSS units — one for boys and two exclusively for girls offering an inclusive platform for students to engage in meaningful social work and national development.

Objective of NSS

To develop the personality of students through community services. NSS volunteers actively participate in a variety of activities, including health and hygiene awareness, environmental conservation, literacy drives, disaster management training, blood donation camps, and gender sensitization programs. These activities not only cultivate leadership and organizational skills among students but also encourage them to become socially aware and responsible citizens.

The college NSS units regularly organize special camps in nearby rural areas, focusing on sustainable development, sanitation, and education. Through these initiatives, the NSS units at our college continue to bridge the gap between the institution and society, nurturing a generation of students dedicated to the service of the nation.
