One of the values of the college is to promote and preserve Indian Cultural heritage. In this process, the college established the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) Cell in 2022 to preserve and disseminate IKS through the youth and help in spreading the plethora of rich heritage of our country in various field like Arts and literature, Philosophy, Economics, Language, Agriculture, Basic Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Architecture, Medicine systems, Management, etc. The IKS cell has a student's samuha[group] called “प्रज्ञावन्तः" (prajñāvantaḥ) which organizes various activities related to the Indian Knowledge System.
Besides, the cell has introduced a wall magazine ‘ Anvīkṣā ’ with different themes related to IKS to promote awareness related to Bhartiya Gyan Parampara among the youth and faculty members. The cell has also started Srimadbhagavatgita Certificate Course in collaboration with the Institute of Spirituality and Science, New Delhi. Any student enrolled at DBS (PG) College and having a valid I-card can join the course. The cell also organizes frequent seminars /symposiums/talks/lectures/ yoga sessions/competitions, and helps in appreciating the rich knowledge traditions of the country. The cell also organizes field trips related to IKS. Being located in a Himalayan state with a significant number of students from remote hill areas, the cell also carries out activities to preserve and document indigenous knowledge of the hill community of the Himalayas. The cell also conducts the classes related to the Value Added Course(VAC) compulsory course at the UG level for all streams. Dr Rajlakshmi Datta is the Co-Ordinator of the Cell.
